Cleveland Park Shooting Suspect Arrested in St. Louis by U.S. Marshals After Interstate Manhunt
Following an intensive cross-state manhunt, Marcus Anderson, a 29-year-old man sought for attempted murder after a shooting in Cleveland Metroparks, was arrested this morning in St. Louis by the U.S. Marshals. The incident, dating back to June 22 at the Red Oak Picnic Area in Garfield Heights, saw a verbal dispute spiral into gunfire, with the male victim sustaining five shot wounds. Anderson swiftly left the scene, prompting law enforcement to issue a warrant for his arrest on July 10, as a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service reported.
Tisone named Saint Louis Zoo Chief Financial Officer
The Saint Louis Zoo today announced Kathy Tisone as the organization’s next Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Tisone comes to the Zoo with more than 25 years of experience leading financial stewardship in nonprofits. She is CFO and Vice President of Operations for St. Louis Arc, Inc., a nonprofit serving over 4,500 people with autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, intellectual and other developmental disabilities in the St. Louis region. Family Upset Over Judge’s Sentence for Man Who Pleaded Guilty in 14-Year-Old’s Murder
A St. Louis man admitted his guilt on Monday in the killing of a teenager from the city in 2022. Louzell Davis Jr. made a plea deal with prosecutors, resulting in his guilty plea for second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Initially charged with first-degree murder, Davis agreed to the lesser charge. As a result, he received a sentence of 17 years for the murder charge and three years for armed criminal action. These sentences will be served consecutively, leading to a total of 20 years in prison.
