Residents, businesses asked to report flood property damage as state seeks disaster relief
South Dakota residents are being asked to report flood-related property damage in an effort to secure federal disaster relief funds. Residents and business owners who suffered property loss or damage due to recent flooding can report their damage online at crisistrack.juvare.com/selfreport/sdoem.jsp. The deadline for some areas to submit damage reports is July 12.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A late night wind storm was accompanied by some brief downpours early Friday morning. Fortunately, those rains didn’t do much to impact flood conditions in SE KELOLAND. Sioux Falls airport got a quick .15″ inch this morning, for a 24 hour total of .26″. A couple places that did get some unwelcome rain were Worthington, MN (just over a half inch), and Spencer, IA (.72″).

A-A-R-P has announced its 2024 Community Challenge grant recipients this week, including several in South Dakota. Nearly 4-million dollars is going out to about 350 organizations nationwide to fund quick-action projects to make communities more livable.
