Madison wins 14U VFW Region 3A
The Madison 14U VFW baseball team is heading to state, after taking the Region 3A tournament on Tuesday. Madison won games over Volga and Flandreau on Monday to open play. Volga then defeated Flandreau 21-8 on Tuesday to set up a rematch, with Madison needing to win one of two games against Volga to claim the region title. Madison needed only one game, winning Tuesday 4-3.

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls City Council is exploring options for the popular Delbridge Museum collection, but money appears to be a major obstacle. A work group says it would cost over a million dollars to restore the collection, and more than that to house it in a new location on city zoo property. As a result, the collection may find a new home outside the city.
Colman and Canova both win on Tuesday
In Cornbelt baseball, Colman took a lead in the top of the 1st inning, and held it throughout the game, in a 6-3 win over Flandreau Blue Teal on Tuesday. Paul Clark hit a double as part of a 2-run 1st inning for Colman. Chris Burke struggled with his control in the late innings, but still pitched a complete game with 5 walks and 8 strikeouts. He also had 2 hits and an RBI at the plate. Clark finished with 2 hits, 2 RBI, and a run scored. Ethan Johnson took the loss for the Blue Teal, surrendering 5 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings. Colman improved to 6-10, while the Blue Teal fell to 4-12.

On Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, at approximately 2:00 pm, a sheriff's deputy responded to a residence in Estelline to investigate a reported stolen vehicle. The vehicle is believed to have been taken sometime over the weekend from outside the home.
