Baltimore County hotel completes multimillion-dollar renovation
A hotel in Baltimore County recently finished a multimillion-dollar renovation to modernize the decades-old property. <\p> DoubleTree by Hilton Baltimore North-Pikesville at 1726 Reisterstown Road completed a five-year-long transformation last month, the hotel and its owners Blue Ocean Realty announced earlier this week. Upgrades to the 50-year-old hotel encompassed all 171 guest rooms, the lobby, the restaurant and the meeting spaces as well as the fitness complex next door.<\p>

Korean French bakery chain to open first Baltimore-area cafe
A cafe with a touch of French flair is preparing to open at Towson Row.<\p> International bakery chain Paris Baguette will open a 3,500-square-foot shop in the large-scale development on York Road, bringing its display cases of breads, croissants and cakes to a spot next to Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers by early 2025. It will be the first location for Paris Baguette in Greater Baltimore and will add to the firm's base of over 150 cafes in 30 states. <\p>
Towson University plans $90M renovation to converted hotel
Towson University plans to embark on a $90 million renovation as one of its main student housing centers nears the end of its useful life. <\p> The university is investing the money in 10 W. Burke in Towson, a former Marriott Hotel that the institution converted to student housing in 2018. The University System of Maryland Finance Committee approved the project during a meeting on May 29 as part of a larger capital projects agenda for the higher education system. The renovations will redo the exterior of the building, repair structural issues and improve things like electrical systems, Towson University said in a statement to the Baltimore Business Journal. <\p>
