    Wizards select Baltimore native Bub Carrington at No. 14

    WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — With the No. 14 overall pick, their second pick of the night, the Wizards selected Baltimore native guard Carlton “Bub” Carrington out of Pittsburgh.

    Last season as a freshman, Carrington earned ACC All-Rookie team honors, averaging 13.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.

    A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Carrington attended Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore as a three-sport athlete. Carrington was a four-star recruit in the class of 2023.

    The Wizards acquired the No. 14 overall pick from the Portland Trailblazers in a trade that sent Deni Avdija to Portland.

    Earlier in the night, the Wizards selected French center Alex Sarr with the No. 2 overall pick .

    At the time of publishing, the Wizards also hold the No. 26 and No. 51 (second round) overall picks.
