Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson lands high in NFL player re-draft

If the entire NFL could remake their teams, Lamar Jackson would be one of the top picks.

NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter explored the idea of a seven-round mock draft of current NFL players, using the draft order of the 2024 NFL Draft. It essentially explores how the entire NFL would reconstruct their teams if every current player was draft-eligible.

Reuter had Jackson going fourth overall to the Arizona Cardinals , writing: "Jackson had his best season since 2019 last fall, earning MVP honors for the second time in his career. He gives the Cardinals a dangerous dual-threat at quarterback."

Reuter had Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow going ahead of Jackson with the top three picks.

Reuter's mock draft differs slightly from various NFL rankings we've seen this offseason. For instance, CBS's Pete Prisco ranked Jackson as the 16th-best player in the NFL, still behind Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow. But Reuter's mock draft prioritizes QBs, as real NFL drafts do.

As for the rest of Reuter's mock draft, the Baltimore Ravens ended up with a new quarterback: Geno Smith, who went in the third round.
