Could a former Jets pass rusher be the missing piece for Ravens defense?

The Baltimore Ravens expect a ginormous leap from multiple young pieces in their outside linebacker room, including Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo. Others here will step up when needed. It’s a tall task that was expected after losing Jadeveon Clowney.

The amount of help the team gets from their younger pass rushers will help shape what the Ravens can and can’t do during the year transaction-wise. However, with a few months to go before the year begins, when listing out “bargain-bin” free agents that could help teams, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report said that the Ravens should consider signing former New York in free Jets pass rusher Carl Lawson.

“The Ravens should also be interested in Lawson after losing Jadeveon Clowney in free agency. Baltimore recorded an impressive 60 sacks last season but has yet to replace Clowney in its pass-rushing rotation.”

Lawson would be a reclamation project to the highest degree after coming on during his later years with the Cincinnati Bengals before struggling with health and production in New York. It wouldn’t hurt to have another veteran in the team’s pass-rushing rotation, but it also seems like the team wants to see what they have in their younger players.
