John Harbaugh wants Ravens offense to make more decisions at line of scrimmage in 2024

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to continue to add to their offense over the course of the 2024 season. The team is entering Year 2 of offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s system, which should provide them with familiarity and stability.

When head coach John Harbaugh was asked about where the team wants to get better, he mentioned getting better with pre-snap things such as operational things, in and out of the huddle. He talked about how the team has a long way to go, but it’s looked good so far.

“Talking about all of the pre-snap stuff, operational-type stuff at the line, in of the huddle, out the huddle, at the line. Trying to make some decisions at the line, in terms of growing the offense in that direction. It’s looked good, but we still have a long way to go. I think everybody would tell you that. We have a lot of work to do with that, and it will be an ongoing process throughout the season, for sure, but that’s the direction we’re going.”

Baltimore saw success within Monken’s system in 2023, which should lead to optimism for this upcoming season. With even more parts of the unit hopefully being perfected, the group has the potential to be far better than in Year 1, which in a new offense can always be a bit sloppy.
