The NFL community is grieving Sunday over the passing of former All-Pro kick returner Jacoby Jones. Several current and past members of the Baltimore Ravens have released statements in remembrance of Jones, including Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

The Ravens released Harbaugh's full statement with a picture on X (formerly Twitter).

"I loved Jacoby Jones. We all did," Harbaugh said in his statement. "His spirit, enthusiasm and love for people were powerful. He was a light."

No cause of Jones' death has been released as of Sunday early afternoon.

Jones began his NFL career with the Houston Texans. He then played three seasons for the Baltimore Ravens from 2012-14. Jones was an intricate part of the team which won the Super Bowl during the 2012-13 season.

He made his only Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro in his first season with the Ravens during 2012. That year, he led the NFL with a 30.7 yards per kick return average and 2 kickoff return touchdowns.

Jones also had a kickoff return for a touchdown in the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. The return, which was 108 yards, set a new record for the longest play in Super Bowl history.

Jones' return in the Super Bowl opened the second half and gave the Ravens a 28-6 lead. Baltimore held on to win, 34-31.

The 9-year veteran finished his career playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and then San Diego Chargers. He had 5 kickoff return touchdowns and 4 punt return scores in 128 career regular season games.
