It has been forever since Baltimore hosted an NBA team, although the city has bred plenty of notable hoop players, including Muggsy Bogues, Sam Cassell, Carmelo Anthony, Rudy Gay, and Angel Reese. Its mayor, Brandon Scott, seems like he wants to put BMore back on the map in the basketball arena.

Scott recently attended a BIG3 game, where Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson caught up with him and conducted a short interview. When asked which player his leadership style as mayor could be compared to, the 40-year-old politician surprisingly mentioned Dennis Rodman .

"My style would be Dennis Rodman," Scott said . "I'mma do whatever's necessary. If I got to score, I'mma score. I get every rebound. I get 'em out there. Whatever I gotta do to bring home the chip."

Scott finds inspiration from "The Worm"

The 40-year-old politician is in his second term after becoming the youngest mayor in the city's history when he won for the first time in 2020. Based on the interview with Scoop B and where it was conducted, basketball seems to be a significant part of his life.

He was also coined the " Allen Iverson of politics " by a Baltimore Sun writer, attributing the description to the mayor being a man of the people.

Scott's leadership has also resulted in positive changes in Baltimore, including reportedly having one of the highest economic growth in the U.S. and the city's lowest unemployment rate in history. So, it appears getting inspiration from Rodman, of all people, has helped him find success in what he does.

    Dennis' menacing work

Of course, Scott probably isn't doing any dirty work, although Rodman had no problems taking on that assignment during his NBA career, even once stating he liked to do the things everybody else hated to do . The Naismith Hall of Famer focused primarily on rebounding and defense but also served as an enforcer and instigator in his stints with the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, and Chicago Bulls.

Despite making plenty of enemies along the way, Rodman had a successful professional stint, securing five rings and becoming the second player in league history to win two consecutive Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Naturally, his time in the Association wasn't always rosy, and the negative reputation he had gotten was because of his doing, what with his tantrums and temperament on the court and erratic behavior off it. Scott should be hoping his political tenure doesn't end up getting a bad rep like Rodman's.
