The Baltimore Orioles may need starting pitching at the MLB trade deadline, but they reportedly have discussed adding a star closer to the mix as well.

According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, the Orioles "are in touch on big relievers" at the deadline, including Oakland Athletics star rookie Mason Miller.

Considering Miller's immense talent featuring a 103-mph fastball and the fact that he's under team control for five more years, it's going to take an immense haul to swipe him away from Oakland.

Miller is one of the favorites to win the American League Rookie of the Year award. In 39.2 innings, Miller has 15 saves with a 2.27 ERA, 70 strikeouts, 14 walks and a 0.86 WHIP.

The Orioles have talent to spare with MLB's best farm system, but it remains to be seen if they will look to make a massive move with a bigger need coming within the starting rotation.

Starters Corbin Burnes and Grayson Rodriguez have been strong for the division-leading Orioles, but they should be looking to add more depth to the rotation.

Baltimore reportedly is putting together a package of prospects in what would be a blockbuster deal for Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal. However, the Tigers are unlikely to move the Cy Young favorite ahead of the July 30 deadline.

The Orioles have been one of the best teams in MLB for the majority of the season. If they somehow add Miller to an already strong bullpen, they would quickly become the favorites to win the pennant.
