Derrick Henry's Shocking $240K Annual Spend To Prep For Season With Ravens

Derrick Henry has been the best running back in the NFL over the last several seasons. In fact, over the last five, he's bested them all in rushing yards.

In that half a decade, Henry has rushed for 7,209 yards, with the next closest running back being Josh Jacobs with 5,545 yards. Henry also ranks best for rushing yards per game (100.1) and rushing touchdowns (68) in that span as well.

Entering his ninth season, Henry has still yet to hit that proverbial wall that running backs typically hit at or near his age. Just last season he had 280 carries (most in the NFL) for 1,167 yards (second behind Christian McCaffrey) and 12 touchdowns on what was a very pedestrian offense for the Tennessee Titans.

But no longer is Henry with the team that drafted him out of Alabama back in 2016. This upcoming season, Henry will be playing for the team that has been in the top three in rushing the last three years: the Baltimore Ravens.

As the 30-year-old running back sets off on a new chapter of his career, he's pulling no punches in his preparation, going to great lengths to ensure he is in top physical shape.

Henry spends around $240,000 annually on body care to stay in peak physical condition, according to his financial adviser Pete Kotos, per The Athletic. This investment includes hiring a personal chef to prepare all his meals, ensuring he adheres to a strict dietary plan.

His meal plan consists of chicken breasts, steaks, potatoes, rice, and broccoli, avoiding fried foods, gluten, dairy, and artificial sugars.

Henry has been a 1,000-yard rusher in five of the last six seasons and was just 63 yards shy of that mark in 2021. He also rushed for a league-leading 2,027 yards in 2020.

It's clear that the veteran is doing everything in his power to prove he's still one of the league's best, helping the Ravens reach the Super Bowl this upcoming season. But father time and those over 2,000 carries will eventually catch up sometime, right?
