OWINGS MILLS, Md (DC News Now) – Ravens veterans reported into the team facilities in Owings Mills Saturday morning. This will mark the unofficial start to the training camp portion of the season as the team will hold their first practice Sunday at 1:20 p.m.

The Ravens are coming off a great 2023 campaign, winning the AFC North and capturing the #1 seed in the NFL Playoffs. They fell to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, but this year players believe they can put it all together.

“I love the pieces that we have here and I think that we’ll be able to show that to the world” said linebacker Roquan Smith. Smith is coming off an All-Pro year for Baltimore, but this year will be different for him and the rest of the defense.

The Ravens promoted Zach Orr to defensive coordinator in February, this will be the first time he will call plays in a game. Despite this, Smith has all the confidence in the world for Orr.

“We’ve all been doubted before..but that’s what the game gives us, an opportunity to prove that.” Smith said. “I got a lot of respect for (Zach Orr) and that he’ll prove it week in and week out.”

Mark Andrews also spoke about his recovery process, and how he’s feeling 100% again. Andrews suffered a ankle injury in November of 2023, and now he’ll get to share a field with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.

“It’s gonna be all eyes on him and eight” said Andrews about the backfield pairing. “Being around those guys…it’s gonna open up some pretty good stuff which is what I’m excited about”

The Ravens will play their first preseason game Friday August 9 at M&T Bank Stadium.
