The Baltimore Ravens drafted outside linebacker Odafe Oweh in the first round of the 2021 draft. While he has shown flashes and been a solid overall player for the team over his first three seasons, he has yet to reach his full potential at the NFL level.

Head coach John Harbaugh has plenty of expectations for Oweh in 2024, especially in a year when the Ravens need him more than ever. He said that he’s hoping Oweh has a breakout year and praises his movement skills and ability to be disruptive.

“He’s looked very good. Odafe [Oweh] has looked very good, and I’m hoping that he has – I guess you’d call it a breakout year if you want to call it that [and] make those plays on the quarterback. He had a lot of pressures last year. [He] wants to take it to the next level and go ahead and get the quarterback on the ground; I’m sure he wants to do that, and then just continue to be an explosive player. [He’s] got a really unique skillset – I mean he can really move and run around and be disruptive. That’s what I’m hoping for and expecting.”

Pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney departed for the Carolina Panthers in 2024 free agency, opening up a much more significant role for Oweh this season. He will have to capitalize to help Baltimore’s defense reach its full potential, something they need if they want to compete for a Super Bowl.
