Ravens fans breathed a sigh of relief when reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson took the field on Saturday after missing several days in training camp due to an illness.

Jackson was asked how he felt now after dealing with the illness.

[I’m] feeling wonderful man,Jackson said. “[It’s] good to be back; back out with my guys; back out with the coaching staff – [it’s] good to be back in August man, [it’s] football season.

Jackson was later asked the cause of the missed practice time.

I don’t know, I kind of just got a bug – you really never know when a bug [will] hit you,” Jackson said. “I got hit with a bug, and I’m good now.

Jackson’s return to the field is a significant plus for Baltimore’s offense, which is looking to build off a solid first year under offensive coordinator Todd Monken. This is the time for Jackson to build and strengthen his chemistry with various players, including wide receiver Rashod Bateman, who has yet to develop a strong connection with Jackson through three seasons.

Jackson will be surrounded by several new faces on offense this season, including veteran running back Derrick Henry in the backfield and three new starters on the offensive line. This will make practice time even more important as the team prepares for the start of the regular season in September.
