Heat and humidity lead to afternoon storms

Heat and humidity are here to stay this week. Temperatures make a close pass to 100° with the heat index getting over that. This will lead to afternoon storms and showers. Some of which could be strong to severe. There is a marginal risk for severe weather both Thursday and Friday. Damaging wind and hail are the main concerns. Heading into the weekend we will still be in the 90s with a heat index higher than that. Storms and showers are back both days. It looks a touch cooler next week, but not by much.
