CLEVELAND — The Guardians and Baltimore Orioles meet Saturday in the third game of a four-game series at Progressive Field.
Joey Cantillo is set to make the second start of his Major League Baseball career for the Guardians and Zach Eflin is scheduled to take the mound for the Orioles. Cleveland topped Baltimore in the first two games of the series, 10-3 Thursday night and 8-4 Friday night.
The Guardians (67-42) enter Saturday's slate of games with the best record in baseball , beating out the Philadelphia Phillies (65-44). The Orioles (65-46) enter one half game behind the New York Yankees for first place in the American League East Division. Cleveland is atop the American League Central Division

Jose Ramirez smacked a two-run home run off of Seranthony Dominguez over the right field fence to trim Cleveland's deficit to 7-4 in the eighth. Steven Kwan walked against Cionel Perez and scored on the Ramirez shot.
The Guardians now have 125 home runs this season and have surpassed their total amount of homers last season.
The Orioles extended their lead to 7-2 in the eighth inning with five hits and four runs against Guardians reliever Xzavion Curry. Baltimore's first four hits in the inning came with no outs.
Gunnar Henderson doubled to right-center field to start the big inning. Anthony Santander singled to center and Adley Rutschman roped a triple to right-center field that scored Henderson and Santander. Guardians right fielder Jhonkensy Noel misjudged Rutschman's hit, but didn't get a glove on the ball until he ran to grab the ball near the fence.
Ryan O'Hearn followed with a double to right field that scored Rutschman and Jackson Holliday delivered a two-out single to center field that scored O'Hearn.
Orioles starter Zach Eflin pitched 6⅓ innings and limited the Guardians to two earned runs and five hits. Reliever Cionel Perez recorded the final two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning after Daniel Schneemann hit a single off of Eflin. Guardians reliever Pedro Avila pitched 1⅔ innings, Nick Sandlin recorded an out and Xzavion Curry worked a 1-2-3 top of the seventh.
Eloy Jimenez hit a single off of Pedro Avila to leadoff the sixth, but was erased on a fantastic 4-6-3 double play. Coby Mayo put the ball in play and then Andres Gimenez, Brayan Rocchio and Josh Naylor delivered defensively for the Guardians. Avila walked Colton Cowser. Nick Sandlin entered to pitch and James McCann grounded out.
Jackson Holliday led off the fifth with a double to left field and Guardians manager Stephen Vogt made the call to the bullpen, bringing in Pedro Avila to relief Joey Cantillo. Austin Slater greeted Avila with an infield single and Gunnar Henderson hit a one-out RBI single to left field. Avila got out of the inning by getting Anthony Santander to ground into a 4-6-3 double play (Andres Gimenez to Brayan Rocchio to Josh Naylor).
Cantillo finished with four strikeouts, no walks and allowed six hits and three runs (all earned).
The Orioles tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the fourth with singles by Gunnar Henderson, Anthony Santander, Eloy Jimenez and Colton Cowser off of Joey Cantillo. Henderson and Santander each singled to left field. Jimenez scored Henderson with another single to left field and an infield single by Cowser scored Santander.
Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor made a diving stop on Cowser's hit and was ready to throw the ball to first, but Cantillo was late getting to the base.
Rookie Angel Martinez hit a two-run home run over the right field fence to give the Guardians a 2-0 lead over the Orioles. Steven Kwan walked ahead of the homer by Martinez. Brayan Rocchio started the inning with a bunt attempt that Zach Eflin fielded cleanly off of the mound. Eflin bounced back from the home run and got Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor to ground out to end the inning.
Rookie Joey Cantillo delivered the first pitch at 7:15 p.m. and neither team scored in the first inning. Orioles left fielder Austin Slater hit a double off Cantillo, but was stranded at second base. Cantillo struck out Ryan Mountcastle, Gunnar Henderson popped out to third baseman Jose Ramirez and Anthony Santander flew out to center fielder Angel Martinez.
Guardians designated hitter Steven Kwan reached base via an error and was stranded at second base in the bottom of the first inning.
Cantillo retired the Orioles in order in the top of the second as Eloy Jimenez struck out, Coby Mayo lined out to Daniel Schneemann in left field and Colton Cowser struck out.
Daniel Schneemann hit a two-out double in the bottom of the second inning, but was stranded as Zach Eflin got Bo Naylor to hit into a ground out (second baseman Jackson Holliday to first baseman Ryan Mountcastle).

Cy Buynak, Johny Goryl and CC Sabathia were inducted into the the Cleveland Guardians Hall of Fame ahead of Saturday night's game.
"I always tell people I was born and raised in California, but I grew up here in Cleveland," Sabathia told the crowd as he spoke for a couple of minutes after being introduced by Guardians radio broadcaster Tom Hamilton.
Cleveland Hall of Famers Manny Ramirez, Sandy Alomar Jr., Carlos Baerga, Charles Nagy, Jim Thome, Kenny Lofton, Andre Thornton and Mike Hargrove were seated on the field and celebrated the class of 2024 with the family and friends of Buynak, Goryl and Sabathia.
Victor Martinez and Mark Shapiro were also on the field during the ceremony.
