Lamar Jackson 'Trying to Make Something Happen' to Honor Ex-Ravens Star

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson shared a heartfelt tribute on Tuesday, dedicating this NFL season to former Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones.

Jones, who tragically passed away on July 14 at the age of 40, had just celebrated his birthday on July 11.

Jackson, speaking with CBS NFL Insider Jonathan Jones, revealed his emotional connection to Jones and his motivation for the upcoming season.

When asked if this year would be the one Jackson finally brings home a Super Bowl, he responded, “If God’s will. Hopefully, Jacoby (Jones) flies high for us, man."

"We’re trying to bring one home. And it’s going to be his hometown, New Orleans. So we definitely trying to make something happen," he added.

Jones' memorable "Mile High Miracle," a 70-yard touchdown catch from Joe Flacco in the AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Denver Broncos, is still celebrated by Ravens fans.

Additionally, Jones' 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers helped secure the Ravens' victory and remains one of the most iconic plays in Super Bowl history.
