An Auburn man suspected of drug trafficking was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly robbed and assaulted a 15-year-old.

Ryan Jolicoeur, 38, was charged with aggravated drug trafficking, robbery, theft and assault, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Jolicoeur had been at the center of a “long-term investigation” into alleged drug trafficking out of a Fifth Street residence, Auburn police said Monday morning.

Jolicoeur was allegedly selling “large quantities” of marijuana, including to children, according to police.

On Sunday, Jolicoeur allegedly pulled his car up along a 15-year-old boy who was walking. Jolicoeur allegedly got out and threatened the boy before taking his sweatshirt, shoes and cellphone, Auburn police said.

Jolicoeur then drove off, but returned minutes later and allegedly assaulted the teen. Auburn police said this stemmed from a “past drug transaction.”

Jolicoeur was arrested later that day at his Fifth Street home, where police seized more than 20 pounds of marijuana and marijuana products, scales, about $1,600 in suspected drug proceeds and several vehicles, according to Auburn police.

His home is across the street from a park designated as a drug-free safe zone by the Auburn City Council. Jolicoeur faces an aggravating drug charge because of the quantity of marijuana seized and his proximity to the park.

Jolicoeur was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he was later released after posting $10,000 bail.
