A Portland man allegedly assaulted two people with a baseball bat late last week.

Ramon Nunez-Rosario, 44, has been charged with elevated aggravated assault and aggravated assault, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.

Nunez-Rosario allegedly attacked two people with a baseball bat about 3:37 p.m. Saturday in the woods behind the Homeless Services Center on Riverside Drive.

Both victims were taken to Maine Medical Center, where both were treated for life-threatening injuries, Nadeau said Monday. One victim is now listed in stable condition.

Nunez-Rosario was arrested Monday morning and taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

No additional information was immediately available.
