PORTLAND — Taro Health, a health insurance provider serving individuals, families, and small businesses throughout southern and mid-coast Maine, has hired Chris Keeler as a regional sales executive.

In this position, Keeler will lead Taro’s offerings designed for Maine small businesses between two and 50 employees. He will work with small business owners, while also supporting small group health insurance brokers. Since entering the Maine market in 2022, Taro has built up a large provider and hospital network, including exclusive access to nearly 40 direct primary care doctors in-network, through its individual and small-business plans.

Keeler will also help Taro grow its partnerships and sponsorships with community-based organizations, which include Partners for World Health, Maine Association of Nonprofits, the Maine Outdoor Film Festival, and the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“As we expand our reach in Maine, Chris will play an integral role in building deeper connections with the community,” said Jeff Yuan, co-founder of Taro Health. “An increasing number of individuals, small business owners, and health care providers are discovering the unique model of comprehensive coverage we offer. Chris will be an integral part of our continued growth here.”

Keeler joins Taro from Bob Dale Gloves and Imports, a manufacturer and supplier of personal protective equipment based in Edmonton, Alberta, where he served as a territory manager. Before that, he worked at Grandy Organics, the Hiram-based manufacturer.

Keeler received his bachelor of science in business administration and management from the Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont.

Keeler grew up in Wayland, Massachusetts and currently lives in Cumberland Center. Outside of work, he enjoys fly fishing, camping, and snowboarding.
