28-year-old dies after Buxton crash

An Old Orchard Beach man died Thursday after crashing into a utility pole in Buxton.

Gage Parsons, 28, was driving north on Beech Plains Road, near the intersection with Boynton Road, about 5:11 a.m. when he lost control at a sharp turn, veered off the road and hit a utility pole, according to the Buxton Police Department.

The crash brought power lines down on the road.

First responders freed Parsons from the wreckage, and he was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
