Deputies are looking for the vandals who damaged property and a political sign in Dixmont.

A home security camera caught a man and woman in a truck tying a rope or chain around an apparent wooden Harris-Walz sign nailed to two trees on Hog Hill Road about 8:39 p.m. on Aug. 17. In the video, the truck can be seen backing up, suggesting at least one other person was present.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that they caused damage to property and the political sign. The sheriff’s office called it an act of criminal mischief.

Anyone with information about this vandalism can contact the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office at 207-947-4585.
