Oceanside girls basketball standout Bailey Breen is joining her younger sister Olivia at Montverde Academy in Florida.

The 6-foot-3 rising senior shared an Instagram post of herself in an Eagle uniform yesterday, with the caption, “new beginnings.”

Breen has led Oceanside to perfect seasons and Class B state championships in 2022 and 2024, and is a three-time BDN All-Mainer . She averaged 28.8 ppg on 65 percent shooting, 9.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.2 steals per game this past season with the Mariners, coached by father Matt Breen.

Breen has more than 25 offers from Division I and II college basketball programs around the country, including UMaine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Quinnipiac, Colgate, North Florida and Akron.

Bailey, a center, and Olivia, a wing, will room together and scrimmage against each other at Montverde this season. Bailey will play for the Eagles’ national team, and Olivia will be one of just two eighth graders on Montverde’s reserve, or “gold,” team.

“Bailey can just score. She is really skilled, has a knack for scoring around the rim, and is polished,” Montverde Academy girls basketball head coach Matt Shewmake said. “She’s an interior five that can shoot it outside.”

Cooper and Ace Flagg were the first two big Maine names to transfer to Montverde, shipping off after their freshman years at Nokomis in 2022. This spring, the duo helped lead the Eagles to an undefeated season and the program’s seventh national championship in 12 years.

Montverde’s girls basketball team is coming off its third straight national championship.
