    $8,500 announced in community donations

CAMDEN – Camden National Bank held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 12 to celebrate the newly renovated Belfast banking center.  During the ceremony, $8,500 in donations were announced to support the Belfast and Midcoast area, including $5,000 to the Belfast YMCA, $1,000 to the Belfast Arts in the Park, and $2,500 to New Hope Midcoast.

“We’re committed to being Belfast’s premier community bank,” said Simon Griffiths, president and chief executive officer of Camden National Bank. “This renovated space is exclusively designed for our team of banking experts to provide advice-based conversations and exceptional customer service that meet the needs of the community at all stages of their journey.”

Griffiths was joined by Belfast Mayor, Eric Sanders, Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dorothy Havey, and Camden National Corporation Chair Lawrence “Larry” Sterrs.

Griffiths continued, “We are dedicated to the continued support and prosperity of our local communities. Through volunteering at the Belfast Street Party and direct donations, I am energized by the community comradery, future growth, and partnership we bring to Belfast.”

The New Hope Midcoast donation is part of Camden National Bank’s Hope@home program, providing unrestricted grants to homeless shelters for every home financed through the bank. Since 2015, the program has reached over $800,000 in total donations to over 50 shelters.
