Hollywood Casino brings back poker tables

Live poker is back at Bangor casino

BANGOR – Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway is reopening its Poker Room, effective immediately. This marks the return of the only live poker room in the state.

“We have been listening to feedback from our customers, and we’re happy to be bringing back the poker room,” said Hollywood Casino General Manager Austin Muchemore. “This is the only place where you can play casino live poker in Maine. There is a lot of excitement surrounding a game of poker, and there is certainly a lot of excitement around the return of it to our gaming floor.”

The decision was made to close Hollywood Casino’s poker room during the pandemic, and it had not re-opened. After polling guests in person and on social media it became a priority to re-open it this spring.

The poker room will now be open Thursdays and Fridays from 2 p.m. to close, and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to close. There will be four tables with live poker, and food and beverage service for players in the room.

“We want our guests to know that we are listening to and acting on their requests,” said Muchemore. “The Poker Room was something that has been missed when we asked our guests what they wanted to see again – it was one of the first things that came up. We heard them loud and clear.”

Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway is a PENN Entertainment property located on Main Street in Bangor. Hollywood features a state-of-the-art gaming floor including nearly 800 slot machines and table games; 152 hotel rooms and suites; and dining at Hops House 99 and the Take 2 Snack Bar.
