With the Paris Olympics dominating NBC’s primetime and late night broadcasts, talk show host Jimmy Fallon used some of his time off the air to visit MDI this past weekend.

Fallon, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live and now host of The Tonight Show, visited Stewman’s Lobster Pound in Bar Harbor and Finn’s Irish Pub in Ellsworth over the weekend, according to social media posts.

“Nothing like sharing a pint of Guinness with friends, old and new,” Finn’s posted on its Facebook page Tuesday morning, along with a photo of Fallon posing with the pub crew. “Thanks for stopping in to see us in the Heart of Ellsworth, Jimmy Fallon!”

Gary Cresswell, co-owner of Finn’s, did not immediately respond Tuesday morning to a request for comment about Fallon’s visit.

Fallon also posed with fans for a photo during a weekend visit to Stewman’s on West Street in Bar Harbor, according to Z107.3 .

It’s not the first time the comedian and national talk show host has made unannounced visits to Maine. He visited West Quoddy Head Light in Lubec in 2020 and, in 2017, he popped in for a pint at a Lubec brewery with Lorne Michaels, the founder and longtime producer of SNL who now also produces The Tonight Show.

Michaels, 79, owns Josh Pond Farm , a 150-acre organic wild blueberry and goat farm in Whiting, Maine, which is about 20 miles from Lubec and 90 miles from Bar Harbor. The Toronto native has purchased and conserved more than 5,000 contiguous acres of forest and blueberry fields surrounding the Washington County farm since 2009.
