Baraga County Chamber of Commerce establishes Dynamo Young Business Grant program
L’ANSE, Mich. (WLUC) - New Baraga County businesses have a new grant opportunity to make use of. The Baraga County Chamber of Commerce has opened its Dynamo Grant Program. The chamber is offering three, up to $5,000 grants to young businesses to get them on their feet. All funding comes from the chamber.
Midwest Grind helping youth players sharpen their skills on the court
ISHPEMING, Mich. (WJMN) – For this group of AAU hoopers, the grind doesn’t stop. “We got a bunch of ten and 11 year old girls from Marquette County, Baraga County and Alger County,” said Ryan Reichel, the head coach for the Midwest Grind AAU team. “Some girls drive up to an hour and a half just to come to practice, but we compile a group of ten girls that practice two days a week for 2 hours each time.”
Feeding America schedules food distribution in Baraga and Menominee counties Thursday
UPPER MICHIGAN, Mich. (WLUC) - Feeding America West Michigan is holding two distribution events for people needing food assistance on Thursday. The first mobile food pantry is at the Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA at 1600 West Drive in Menominee. Distribution begins at 10:00 a.m. Central time. The second event is in the north parking lot of the Ojibwa Casino in Baraga. Distribution there starts at noon Eastern time.
