Episcopal, Ascension Catholic Impress in Battle on the Ridge Jamboree Doubleheader
It was a great football appetizer before the full course meal begins next week as high school football jamborees kickoff across the state of Louisiana, and Thursday night’s action featured an exciting doubleheader at Memorial Field. NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A tropical disturbance in the northwest Gulf continues to keep our weather active through this holiday weekend. We’ve been lucky not to see a repeat of Friday’s flooding but some areas still got heavy rains with the continued onshore flow. While the tropical disturbance in the Gulf isn’t expected to develop, it’s still bringing deep-layer moisture capable of tropical downpours into Sunday. Street flooding remains a concern.

Mandina's murder suspect booked with smuggling drugs into New Orleans jail
The man accused of gunning down another man in front of Mandina's Mid-City restaurant during New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival last year is facing new charges. Kyron Fazande, 23, was rebooked Friday on two counts of introducing contraband in prison and a count of criminal conspiracy after authorities say he coordinated the smuggling of Suboxone into the Orleans Justice Center with a woman on the outside of the jail.
