BARBOURVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — As the start of school approaches for many families, getting supplies is a high priority.

Ensuring equal access to supplies for all students is something Superintendent Dennis Messer has been fighting for since he began leading Barbourville Independent Schools.

“That’s our goal,” Superintendent Messer said, “to educate all students and to have a level playing field.”

Messer said the plan is also intended to help families save money. He said that school is a hectic time for parents and wanted to ease stress and help keep parents focused on what matters most: their students’ education.
