Marietta Main Street has a mural in the works
MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP)—Marietta Main Street has an iconic piece of art preparing to be displayed in October. They have been working with an anonymous private donor to paint a mural depicting the town’s most iconic pieces. The donor wanted to have a new mural displayed, so they asked Marietta Main Street to help make that happen.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Parts of the Mid-Ohio Valley picked up a decent amount of rain on Monday. Spots around Parkersburg, Belpre, and Marietta were able to pick up more than half an inch of rain. A few isolated spots in central Washington county were able to get close to an inch in total. However, some areas did not pick up much rain. Southern Wood County is an example of only picking up around a tenth to two tenths of an inch of rain. More rain is still needed to help with the severe drought conditions across the Mid-Ohio Valley.
ODNR offers special deer hunts on eight state nature preserves
COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Natural Areas and Preserves is holding special deer hunts at eight state nature preserves across Ohio during the 2024-25 hunting season. A man who is suspected of shooting a woman in Wood County the previous Saturday has been taken into custody in Harrison County. A woman was discovered dead from what seemed to be a gunshot wound at an apartment on 19th Street in Vienna, which is located in the Parkersburg neighborhood, according to a press statement issued by the Vienna Police Department.
