Seaside Heights School Board Seeking More Participation, Will Change Meeting Times
The Seaside Heights Board of Education, which will continue to operate following the defeat of a referendum earlier this year that would have merged the district into the Toms River Regional school system, is planning to begin greater outreach to the community, starting with holding meetings at a time many believe will be more convenient for residents.
11 restaurants participate in NJ seashell recycling program
đ” Oysters in the Mullica River need to be bolstered. đ” Atlantic City restaurants are recycling their shells to help. Eleven restaurants in the Atlantic City area have been giving their leftover shells from diners to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protectionâs Marine Resources Administration so they can be used to help bolster the oyster reef population.
School Belongs to All
As lifelong residents of our beloved island and both former school board members, we are writing to express our deep concern and opposition to the proposed demolition of Long Beach Island Grade School to make way for a housing development. This plan not only threatens to erase another cherished landmark but also presents several other issues that could negatively impact the quality of life on Long Beach Island.

I am writing to publicly thank the Long Beach Township police and the volunteer emergency responders for saving the life of my husband. On Saturday, July 20 they arrived almost immediately after I made my early morning 911 call. Not only did they know what to do but they did it with skill, efficiency and calm from years of experience. It literally saved his life.
Kickball Event Raising Funds for ALO
Alliance for a Living Ocean will be the beneficiary of a âSummer Slamâ kickball game on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. at Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars.
