Plymouth man charged with abandoning dog in Wilkes-Barre
WILKES-BARRE — A Plymouth man is facing felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges after he allegedly abandoned a dog in Wilkes-Barre. Dennis W. Meekins, 41, last known address as Willow Street, was identified by multiple surveillance cameras as the man who left a dog caged inside a kennel on a sidewalk in front of a house on Loomis Street on July 12, according to court records.

The man is suspected of a break-in at the Strong Spas warehouse in the 500 block of W. 11th St. that took place on Sunday, July 14. ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police in Allentown say they arrested a man and seized suspected fentanyl and ecstasy pills after an investigation. A push to ban smoking inside Pennsylvania casinos is underway in Harrisburg. Democrat State Representative Dan Frankel joined some Pittsburgh casino workers for a rally on the North Shore yesterday as they advocate in favor of an amendment to the state’s Clean Indoor Air Act to end tobacco use at their jobs. Frankel is a co-sponsor of the amendment, saying it is meant to close loopholes in the 2008 law.
