CHICAGO (CBS) — There's a new place to shop for groceries in Arlington Heights, and residents in the northwest suburb seemed ready to shop until they dropped. There were at least a dozen shoppers lined up for the grand opening of the Amazon Fresh location in Arlington Heights.The first customer in line received a $100 Amazon gift card, and the next 99 received gift cards between $5 and $15.One shopper stood in line to take Amazon's new Smart cart for a spin.Amazon donated $10,000 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository to celebrate the store opening.

Randall Oaks Zoo takes on Stick & Stay Trail adventure
Have a passion for furry and feathered friends alike? Head to West Dundee’s Randall Oaks Zoo. Nestled on a scenic hilltop, the zoo offers a variety of kid-friendly farm animals for viewing, petting and feeding. Just some of the animals you might find include alpacas, goats, emus, reptiles, deer, rabbits, chickens, pigs, foxes and birds, including Red-tailed hawks, peacocks and Great Horned Owls, just to name a few. Additionally, Randall Oaks Park, where the zoo resides, boasts 141 acres of open space for exploration. Visitors will find picnic areas, a volleyball court, playgrounds, a 10-hole disc golf course, and more. So, pack a picnic and enjoy the day.

The Venue in Aurora will offer two free movie nights this summer. The first one highlights “Woodstock.” This documentary illustrates the start of the 1960s counterculture movement. It includes include artist interviews, performances and more. The second film is “Cheat You Fair: The Story of Maxwell Street.”
