In a sweeping action against human trafficking in northwest Georgia, 14 individuals have been detained in the sting named 'Operation Etowah Exploits', authorities have confirmed. This operation involved a coordination of efforts by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's (GBI) Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office, and local police departments from Cartersville and Polk County, unraveling a network suspected of illegal sex trade activities spanning across the region.
14 Arrested in Northwest Georgia Human Trafficking Operation
Police arrested 14 people in a multi-agency investigation targeting sex traffickers and sex buyers in Northwest Georgia. The GBI’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (HEAT), the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations & Criminal Investigation Division, the Cartersville Police Department, the Polk County Police Department, and the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office coordinated the operation. RaceTrac opens new Emerson facility, holds distribution tours
A new RaceTrac opened in Bartow County June 25 as travelers going up and down I-75 now see the 8,000-square-foot facility off of Red Top Mountain Road. This travel center in Emerson joins the other centers in Bartow County, as well as the distribution facility that opened up back in 2021 at 100 Riverpoint Road. Leaders of this 55,000-square-foot facility in Cartersville recently conducted a media tour to give insight on how the warehouse operates.
