Denver Nuggets close Summer League with consecutive wins thanks to Trey Alexander's late takeover
It took some clutch offense from Trey Alexander for the Nuggets to avoid a collapse in their Summer League finale, a 91-82 win over the Pelicans on Saturday in Las Vegas. Denver saw an early 23-point lead dissolve in the final minutes. Then, Alexander scored or assisted 10 of Denver’s final 16 points. The rookie finished with 19 points, making 8 of his 10 shots from the field and all three of his 3-pointers. He added seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block in 29 minutes. The former Creighton standout averaged more than 17 points, five rebounds and two assists over five Summer League games.

Suspect, Police Officer Injured In Shooting Near City Park In Fort Collins
Bullets flew Sunday near Fort Collins’ City Park as a driver involved in a single-vehicle crash nearby exchanged gunfire with responding Fort Collins police officers. According to the Coloradoan, the incident, which began around 12:41 p.m. Sunday, left both an officer and the driver injured, according to a Fort Collins police news release around 4 p.m. Sunday. The officer is expected to recover, but no official word on the driver’s condition. No civilians were injured in the incident.

Volunteers keep Northern Colorado laundry truck's mission rolling after crash
A mobile laundry service in Fort Collins and Loveland is back on the road five months after its truck was damaged in a crash. The mobile laundry service has been operated by Homeward Alliance volunteers for five years, providing free and accessible laundry to people with low income and families and people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers drive the laundry truck — outfitted with six washers and six dryers — to locations in Fort Collins and Loveland weekly so clients can have their laundry washed, dried and folded for free.

A flash flood washed away a small bridge in Gypsum and caused mudslides in other parts of Eagle County, the Vail Trail reported. “Though no one was injured, several homeowners said the high water spread over their lawns and seeped into basements, causing some damages,” the Trail reported. “At least two retaining walls near homes were washed away in the brief downpour. High water on Gypsum Creek also threatened to destroy a number of other bridges in town. Residents said a surge of water rose to a level even with the top of many bridges, and even lapped against the large Eagle Street bridge, but damaged only two bridges in town.”
