Shari’s owed Idaho $200,000+ in unpaid sales tax as several locations close
The Idaho State Tax Commission has filed six liens on Shari’s Management Corp of Beaverton – the company that owns local Shari’s restaurants. Shari’s closed three of its Idaho store locations in recent months. This spring, the location on Franklin Rd. in Boise closed to make way for a planned Bank of America branch as BoiseDev first reported. Then, the restaurant in Lewiston closed on Memorial Day, according to Big Country News. Last month, the Shari’s in Idaho Falls closed, as reported by East Idaho News.
Etna’s JACZ Drive-In featured in Jeff Foxworthy Segment
A local Star Valley business found themselves in part of a television segment with comedian Jeff Foxworthy on Wednesday. Jeff Roper with KIFI Local News 8 in Idaho Falls had Foxworth on the air. The two were doing a segment called “Redneck or not?” where Roper would show Foxworthy local images and ask if they were redneck. Roper showed a video clip of the famous Fry Sauce wagon at JACZ Drive-In in Etna. “A trailer with fry sauce in it. That’s hall-of-fame level redneck,” joked Foxworthy.

Ammon students can get ice cream for the U.S. Constitution in September
AMMON — Starting Sunday, a local mayor is offering free ice cream to students who can explain an important piece of U.S. history to him. Ammon Mayor Sean Coletti is challenging Ammon K-12 students to write about a feature of the U.S. Constitution and then email it to him. In return, students will get a free ice cream coupon from Reed’s Dairy while supplies last.
