Hy-Vee to host event for small-business owners in Kansas City in September
Hy-Vee Inc. announced that it will host the OpportUNITY Inclusive Business Summit in Kansas City in September. The event aims to provide small business owners with learning opportunities and resources from Hy-Vee and other local business leaders. The summit, which is free and open to the public, will be held Sept.12 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The event will include a live pitch competition for minority- and women-owned businesses, from which 15 finalists will be selected to compete for up to $50,000 in cash investments from Hy-Vee. Kansas City teens rally, share personal experiences of gun violence with Jackson County legislators
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Nearly 40 teenagers gathered at the Jackson County Courthouse to share their personal experiences with gun violence, while also calling for solutions to the widespread issue. The effort was led by the Nia Project, a non-profit dedicated to mentoring young Black women in Kansas City.
