Patrick Beverley, a Chicago native, was a huge Michael Jordan fan growing up. As a kid, Beverley watched on TV as Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships. However, despite hailing from the same city that Mike played for, Pat Bev said he never got to see his idol.

"Mr. 94 Feet" finally got the opportunity to meet "His Airness" during a recent vacation, and according to Beverley , it was his full-circle moment with the legendary guard.

"You see him every day, I'm talking about like Grandma's crib, small TV not even as big as this fu**** table right here on the porch, everybody in the house. I go to St. Tropez for my birthday, Michael Jordan there," Patrick said on " The OGs Show ."

Beverley's wife surprised him for his 36th birthday with a trip to St. Tropez. Coincidentally, MJ and his wife were also in the French coastal town to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

While having lunch at the famous Bagatelle restaurant, Pat said he heard the Bulls theme song being played on a saxophone. When he took a peak, Pat Bev saw MJ and finally got to meet his childhood hero for the first time.

"I went from Chicago in the hood watching this man on TV to us being in St. Tropez," added Beverley. "Him and his lady, me and my lady, he came in on a boat. His boat bigger than mine, but I came in a boat, too."

    Beverley made it, too

Jordan traveling to St. Tropez in a bigger boat isn't a surprise because, after all, he is the richest NBA player of all time, with a net worth of over $3 billion , according to Forbes. Still, the fact that Beverley even got on a boat to St. Tropez proves he made it, too—just not as big-time as MJ. But considering how he got here, it's pretty impressive.

Beverley went from being a Naismith candidate during his sophomore season with Arizona to being declared ineligible to play in the NCAA during the 2008-09 season for turning in a paper that wasn't his . Instead of going to the NBA, he started his professional basketball career in Ukraine.

Pat didn't play his first NBA game until he was 24. But once he got to the league, Beverley made the most out of his opportunity. He changed his game, too, going from being a scorer in high school to a defensive specialist in the NBA. That paid off as he lasted 12 years in the league while earning three All-Defensive team selections and a reputation as one of the peskiest defenders ever.
