Stephen Curry 's otherworldly performance in the last two rounds of the 2024 Olympics continues to be the talk of the basketball world days after Team USA captured gold in Paris.

After struggling in the tournament's first four games, the Golden State Warriors superstar caught fire in the Americans' final two contests, scoring 50 points while hitting 17-of-26 three-pointers. Behind Curry's heroics, Team USA held off Serbia and France to emerge as Olympic champions.

According to Jeff Teague , Curry's performance in Paris solidified him as the best point guard ever. But what happens if he leads Golden State to another NBA championship?

"He the best point guard ever," Teague said on the Club 520 podcast. "Top 5 player of all time? Yeah, he gonna be in that mix if he get another ring. I just don't see too many people better than him. He get another ring, he definitely up there with Kobe."

Curry is already a Top 10 player of all time

The 36-year-old is the NBA's all-time three-point leader and a four-time NBA champion with the Warriors. He was back-to-back NBA MVP in 2015 and 2016 and the All-Star Game and NBA Finals MVP in 2022. "Chef Curry" also has 10 All-Star game appearances and 10 All-NBA team selections.

According to Teague, Steph is already a Top 10 player of all time with those accolades. But if he leads the Dubs to one more NBA championship, he would have five rings, the same number as the late Kobe Bryant .

"When I say mirror Kobe, I'm saying cuz of the five rings and stuff. But like I'm saying cuz Kobe Top 5 and some people got Kobe like the fifth, fourth and I'm like to get into the Top 5, he got be just as good as Kobe," Jeff added.

Pierce says Steph overtakes Kobe with another ring

Teague saying Steph would be at par with Kobe with another ring is already a huge statement. But Paul Pierce took it a step further when he said another Larry O'Brien trophy would put Curry ahead of Bryant on the all-time list.

"If Steph wins one more ring, if Steph wins this year, you gotta throw him in the Top 5 all-time," Pierce said . "I mean that there's no denying. If they win this year. … He probably goes ahead of Kobe."

Curry's road to another NBA title will be tougher now that Klay Thompson has left the organization. However, if the iconic point guard pulls off a miracle and wins his fifth NBA championship, that should be enough for even the biggest Kobe fans to put him on the Los Angeles Lakers legend's level.
