Anthony Edwards sure knows how to turn heads. When he is on the hardwood, his basketball skills have allowed him to overshadow his teammates and opponents. Off the court, the Minnesota Timberwolves star has provided folks with plenty of sound bites.

Unfortunately, the youngster may have rubbed a lot of people, particularly retired NBA players, the wrong way when he asserted that Michael Jordan was the only one who had skill during his generation. Among those who clapped back at the "propaganda" is Isiah Thomas , who advised his X (formerly Twitter) followers to be careful in choosing what to believe.

Ant needs to watch more old videos

According to the Team USA standout, he didn't watch videos from the past, so he couldn't "speak on it" when asked how today's generation of hoopsters differs from the older ones.

Perhaps Edwards should have taken some time to look for highlights of NBA legends of the past decades. There is an abundance of material on various platforms, so it wouldn't have consumed much of his time. Or maybe it would have been better for him to stick to what he initially said: that he couldn't talk about the matter.

While there may be valid arguments that stars nowadays are more talented than ever, to say that players in the 1990s and previous decades didn't have skills might be misguided.

Many of Jordan 's rivals were skillful in their own right. We don't even have to look further than Thomas, whose dribbling abilities can rival those of ball handlers today. Hence, it's unsurprising that the Detroit Pistons icon is among those who had a negative reaction to Edwards' view.

    Isiah's perception of Ant

Interestingly, Zeke doesn't appear to think too highly of the 23-year-old aspiring superstar. When folks were pushing the agenda of Edwards being Jordan's reincarnation, he dismissed the comparison , stating that the shooting guards don't have similar games.

Now that the T-Wolves star may have seemingly agreed that MJ's peers were plumbers and firemen, it's easy to see Thomas being one of Edward's critics in the coming years.

However, when the regular season starts, "Ant-Man" will have every opportunity to continue showing his skills and prove that he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Thomas. The two-time All-Star was one series away from reaching the Finals, but the Dallas Mavericks eliminated his Wolves in the Western Conference Finals.
