The Golden State Warriors dominated the league for most of the last decade. The franchise advanced to six NBA Finals and has lifted the Larry O'Brien trophy four times since 2015.

However, many believe that the Warriors dynasty as we know it is over. For many, the downfall of the Dubs dynasty started with an in-practice fight between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole. What followed was an utterly disappointing season by the franchise's high standards.

It was ultimately nipped in the bud after Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards in the summer of 2023. While many have blamed JP for the team's demise, former Warriors guard Gilbert Arenas thinks head coach Steve Kerr blew the matter out of hand.

    Gilbert Arenas calls out Steve

Coach Kerr is coming on the heels of leading Team USA to its fifth consecutive gold medal at the Olympics. But at the same time, Kerr has faced an uproar from fans for underutilizing Jayson Tatum, but that's another topic.

Returning to the Warriors dynasty's downfall, Gilbert Arenas recently dropped a bold take on the potential reason behind the franchise's current situation. Agent 0 spoke his mind on the No Chill Gil podcast via YouTube.

"It got so bad that the coach had to step in, right? Poole never said a word. Gil said . "Steve Kerr stepped in and pulled Jordan Poole to the side and put the battery in his back. He said, 'Come on Poole, you're letting that mock to you like this every day? Stand up for yourself. Be a man. I am giving you the 'Okay' to talk shit back… Don't let him just punk you. Come on, say something back.'"

That's definitely a unique outlook on what happened within the Warriors organization. Whether Arenas is correct or not, Poole lost the franchise's trust, and as a result of that incident, he was shipped to the Wizards last year.

What did Poole say to Green?

All things considered, JP deserved a better exit from the organization. In fact, Kerr even admitted that he regretted how the 2022 NBA champion left the team . Since the infamous incident, there was a visible difference in Poole's game on the floor.

But what led to Green punching Poole in the face? It was an unexpected behavior even for the veteran forward. Well, it was reported that Poole called Green an expensive backpack for Steph Curry .

Considering Green is an accomplished NBA star, it's no surprise that he was offended by this reported insult. Despite that, Green's reliance on physical offense wasn't required. Had Dray controlled his emotions, the Warriors' core may have remained intact.
