Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was recently a guest on CNBC's 'Squawk of the Street' program to discuss the 2024 Olympics , among other things.

Interestingly, Curry brought with him the gold medal he won at the Summer Games, and was asked whether his scintillating performance during Team USA's knockout round games against Serbia and France was one of those days when he got in the zone or something else because it was the Olympics.

"It takes an energy of its own in the Olympics because it's a one-and-done. When you get to the medal or knockout rounds," said Curry via CNBC. "It's a one-and-done environment. It's kind of like March Madness. There's just a rush that you know. A seven-game series, that's a long build-up," said Curry. "This was just one game, 40 minutes, can you get it done?"

Curry kept the Avengers in the game against Serbia

Team USA looked like it was going to coast to the gold medal after a huge 122-87 blowout of Brazil in the quarterfinals. Their next opponent was Serbia, a team they beat 110-84 in the group stage and 105-79 during their five-contest exhibition showcase.

Serbia played a near-perfect game and had the Americans trailing by 17 points in the first half and 13 at the start of the fourth quarter. However, Team USA rallied behind Steph's clutch shooting to escape with a 95-91 win. Curry finished with 36 points on 12-19 shooting, including 9-14 from three-point range.

"And then obviously the France game, gold medal game, in France," added Steph. "That last three minutes was storybook stuff, and it still hasn't really sunk in. Winning the gold, we expected to do that, we knew it was going to be hard. But how it happened I still watch some highlights. It's kind a dope."

17 three-pointers in the final two games of the tournament

Then, during the gold medal game against the host nation France, Curry took over in the final three minutes of the contest, hitting one big three-point shot after another , including the dagger three-pointer over the outstretched arms of two defenders.

Curry's two-game flurry saw the two-time NBA MVP make 17 three-pointers in the final two contests of the Olympic tournament. Steph had scored just 29 points through the quarterfinals but put up a combined 60 in the two knockout round games.

It was LeBron James who won the tournament MVP, but there was no doubt that it was Steph who provided the most memorable moments. And like all of us, he's still in awe of what he did in those two games.
