Stephen Curry had a memorable summer after winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Since then, Curry has been enjoying his free time before the 2024-25 NBA season begins in October.

Curry’s love for playing golf is well-known. So it’s no surprise that the Baby-Faced Assassin has some major plans for his own golfing event in the offseason. Steph and “Underrated Golfers” were recently invited to Times Square in New York City.

Curry takes a playful dig at MJ

Steph and co. were honored to ring the opening bill at Nasdaq on Time Square. It was a historic achievement for the Warriors star as he became only the second NBA player to ever do so.

The first? Well, unsurprisingly, it was none other than Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan . Chef Curry was seemingly aware of this as he took a light-hearted jab at the six-time NBA champion.

“I just found out I’m only the second NBA player to ring the opening bell,” Curry said. “The other one was some random guy. I don’t know him. Michael Jordan.”

Curry showcased his humor at the event. However, the primary intention was to give young golfers worldwide the experience of a lifetime. After all, that’s what the “Underrated Golf Tour” is about.

The Curry Cup is all set to take place in New York City this time, and what better way to march toward it than ringing the opening bell at the Nasdaq Marketsite in Times Square.

When did Jordan ring the Nasdaq opening bell?

MJ may have retired from the NBA for the third and final time in 2003. But he has remained connected to the world of sports in one way or the other. The Bulls legend used his remarkable popularity to create a phenomenal business portfolio.

Since his retirement, Mike has invested in numerous business opportunities, ballooning his net worth to over $3 billion. In 2015, Jordan partnered with Mark Cuban to invest in Sportradar. In 2021, Sportradar visited the Nasdaq Marketsite in Times Square. Jordan, the company's principal owner, rang the opening bell to celebrate the company’s IPO.

Now, three years later, Curry had the opportunity to replicate what MJ did. It goes without saying that the 4x NBA champion is planning to enter the business world once his basketball career is over.
