The Los Angeles Lakers are arguably the most popular team in the NBA. As one of the league's original squads, the Lakers have a prestigious history of winning, and they have had some of the greatest players of all time wear their uniforms.

Unsurprisingly, many big-name stars are fans of the Purple and Gld, including notorious musician and actor Ice Cube . While the famed rapper frequently attends games, he made a pretty interesting admission about how he gets tickets for the contests he goes to.

Cube always pays for his tickets

It's never surprising to see celebrities in other industries supporting their favorite NBA teams, but the Lakers' celebrity fanbase is larger than any other team's, which isn't much of a surprise. In many instances, these celebs can use their connections and popularity to get tickets for free.

Ice is undoubtedly a big enough name to get his tickets for free if he wants to, but the legendary rapper chooses not to. In Cube's eyes, he has enough money to afford whatever tickets he wants, so he always pays for his seats whenever he pops out to a game.

"I never call for tickets," Ice Cube said on The Dan Patrick Show. "I always buy tickets, because we're in Los Angeles. I had a suite for 20 years at the Staples Center, and I bought my suite. Everybody in L.A. asks for tickets, and I just don't want to be that guy. If I'm supporting, I got the money to support. I want to be a fan. I want to be able to talk s*** about what's going on in my suite. If everything ain't right, I don't want to have to be like, 'Well, you know, the tickets are free. Let's be cool, tickets are free.' I want to still be able to be a fan."

    Just a regular Lakers fan

As a celebrity who has made millions of dollars throughout his lifetime, Cube has more than enough money to buy whatever seats he wants at these Lakers games. So, that's what he does.

This is awesome for several reasons. For one, it shows that Ice is just like everyone else and wants to be a fan of his favorite team. A lot of times, celebrities attending these games do so to get some attention or help the squad they are watching drum up some extra excitement.

Beyond that, the rapper isn't using his name to get himself things that other fans can't. He could, but he chooses to be just like any other fan, which is really unique in the modern day and age where social media plays such a large role in the things that celebrities do.

So, when you see Ice Cube at a Lakers game, just know that he paid to be there. And just like everyone else in the building, he will passionately support his team instead of being happy to have just gotten into the game for free.
