"I took some Nair and put a stripe of it down the top of his head" - When Kareem left Michael Cooper dealing with a bald spot

It seems it wasn't the brightest idea to cross Kareem Abdul-Jabbar . Former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Michael Cooper learned that the hard way when he found himself on the receiving end of the legendary center's harsh comeuppance.

In an interview with Sportskeeda, Abdul-Jabbar shared when Cooper smacked a newspaper out of his hand while he was reading it. Kareem warned him he would regret that, and the opportunity for vengeance came when the Lakers were on a long plane ride to New Orleans.

"Coop was behind me asleep," KAJ said . "So I took some Nair and put a stripe of it down the top of his head. Then, I didn't do anything else. When we landed, Magic [Johnson] said, 'Hey, Coop, what is that?' He tried to wipe it off. He left a big bare spot on his head (laughs). He had to figure out how to deal with that."

    Sweet revenge for "Cap"

Some might think giving Cooper a hair removal treatment as punishment for interrupting a reading session might be too harsh. However, it looks like Coop and Byron Scott loved poking fun at their superstar teammate.

James Worthy once recalled the former wing duo cutting up one of Abdul-Jabbar's pants that were "too tight and outdated." According to Worthy, Kareem carried out his plan revolving around Nair and Cooper's hair weeks later.

So, it seems that it was a series of pranks that triggered the six-time MVP to exact his revenge. He also cut the toes out of Scott's socks during a road trip in a cold-weather city, per "Big Game James."

KAJ may sometimes have an affable personality, but rubbing him the wrong way apparently had scary consequences. Of course, it was all good between the two, as they spent many years and won five championships together. The 19-time All-Star was even one of the first to congratulate Cooper on the announcement of his long-awaited induction to the Hall of Fame.

    High praises for Coop

Abdul-Jabbar has also offered nothing but effusive praises for Cooper over the years. He has even credited the former Defensive Player of the Year for helping him find success in the latter part of his illustrious career. As such, KAJ, along with Johnson, Worthy, and Pat Riley, is one of Coop's presenters at the HOF ceremony in October.

The honor has been a long time coming for the California native. There have been questions about why Cooper hadn't been inducted before this year, but he is appreciative of the privilege of seeing his name etched forever in Springfield.

Showtime Lakers fans will surely be anticipating the presentation in October, and perhaps Abdul-Jabbar will share some more interesting anecdotes about the eight-time All-Defensive member.
