The NBA is ready for the new group to replace the current crop of league stars. Luka Doncic , Anthony Edwards, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are touted to become the new faces of the Association. Still, only one will be crowned that, and we are in for a threat as all three guards have something special.

Speaking of Doncic, the European baller has six years of experience under his belt. During them the Dallas Mavericks superstar has garnered a lot of praise from NBA fans and former players.

So much so that many believe Doncic is someone who can possibly break LeBron James' all-time NBA scoring record by the time he finishes his career in the league, despite him rejecting the idea . A key reason behind that prediction is Luka's versatility on offense.

    Former NBA player praises Doncic

One of those who praise Luka is the three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Jamal Crawford, who recently made an appearance on the Run Your Race podcast. During the episode, J Crossover explained why Luka has the deepest bag in the Association.

"I'm gonna say Luka, and the reason why is having a bag should be - okay, today's a catch and shoot game, today's a game for one-two drill pull up, and Shai can do that, but I think the fact Luka can bring others into the game at such a high level is part of the bag," Crawford said . "Like I can get them dudes easier shots."

When it comes to scoring, both Shai and Luka are blessed with incredible skill. However, Doncic can always one-up the OKC Thunder star with his playmaking skills.

To put things into perspective, Doncic averages 8.3 assists per game for his career compared to SGA's 4.9 assists per game. However, on the scoring font, both stars have averaged more than 30.0 points per game in the last two NBA seasons.

Luka wants Mavs to reach the Finals again

Despite Doncic and Co. being completely overpowered by the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals, the team is looking to reload; Luka wasn't ashamed of the team's performance and promised they would come back stronger. He highlighted the fact that the roster wasn't together for a full season, and they still managed to reach the finals round.

Despite coming up short, Doncic put on an amazing show for the fans in the postseason, averaging 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game.

Can Luka Magic put on a better performance in the upcoming season? Fans will have to wait a couple more weeks to finally see the five-time NBA All-Star back in action. The NBA will be back on October 22, 2024.
