For NBA players considering retirement, a common question is what to do next with their lives. Glen Davis , who spent eight seasons in the league, chose a rather unique path.

As revealed in March 2024, the former NBA champion entered the adult film industry. At the time, "Big Baby" shared photos on social media featuring scantily-clad women. In one image, the 38-year-old was seen working behind a camera.

"That one time I used to shoot pornos! I really enjoyed that job!!" Davis captioned the Instagram post, adding some laughing emojis.

    Fans expressed disappointment and outrage

Davis, a former 6'9" big man for the Celtics , Magic, and Clippers, has faced several controversies since leaving the league in 2015. These issues included drug possession charges and an indictment for felony assault. Not surprisingly, this garnered significant attention, much like his indirect announcement about entering the adult film industry.

After his post, some fans reacted negatively. One individual expressed disappointment, saying, "Bro ur my kids favorite player, he follows you." Another criticized "Big Baby," saying, "Kobe or LeBron would never." Meanwhile, another person said he would unfollow the retired NBA athlete, who currently has about 119,000 followers on Instagram .

    Davis' response to the backlash

When faced with the backlash, Davis, who won a ring with the 2007-08 Boston team, quickly defended his unconventional choice. The LSU product first pointed out, "As basketball players, we're kind of like low-key porn stars." He also mentioned that he was quite familiar with female genitalia, suggesting he was well-suited for shooting adult films.

Additionally, Glen mentioned that curiosity pushed him to explore his passion for film and production.

"I just wanted to see, I didn't f*** those girls. I was just watching and admiring and getting good shots. I love film, I love production and I wanted to try it out so I have that experience," he explained.

In the end, "Big Baby" might have been better off focusing on this endeavor instead of choosing a path that led to serious trouble. In November 2023, he and former Detroit Piston Will Bynum were found guilty in a scheme that prosecutors say defrauded an insurance plan for NBA players and their families of over $5 million. As a result, Davis will soon spend 40 months in prison. Perhaps after that, the Louisiana native will return to his "film" project.
