It depends on who you ask or where you were born or raised.

    Does age matter in life?

It depends on who you ask or where you were born or raised.

There are a lot of things going on in US politics. Recently, a comedian compared two aging politicians; most things are fair game in politics.

What do you think? How are you aging?

Aging can be scary. However, many seniors age gracefully.

    How?

Older people can still wear their favorite clothing, drive, work, and hike. However, many cannot run as fast as they used to a decade ago.

You decide, is age just a number for you?

Aging gracefully can work for anyone from any background if they practice self-discipline and avoid unnecessary risk.

Do you know anyone in your family or community who ages gracefully? Do you know their secrets? Join the conversation below.

People I have seen age gracefully have two things in common: self-discipline and avoiding unnecessary risk.

The unnecessary risks include driving while drunk, excessive drinking or drugging, working, spending, eating, and never-ending conflict.

    Self-discipline

These people take self-discipline as their best friend. They are self-regulated and rarely follow the crowd. They are satisfied with who they are, what they do, and what they have and are emotionally stable. Last, they are not attached to material things or people.

These somewhat older adults continue to care for themselves and contribute in any way they can to their family, community, and society.

    They never retire.

    Why does discipline work?

Unnecessary risk is connected to indiscipline.

Discipline in the sense that people avoid anything that negatively affects their health. That's why people practice discipline when investing in themselves—rest, exercise, and socialize.

Also, many aging people gracefully read as much as they can, find time to engage with others, eat healthy food, and avoid unnecessary risks.
