Felder Rushing to be in Bassfield tomorrow at Beaver Creek event

There will be a special guest for the big event happening at Beaver Creek Distillery tomorrow. Gardening guru and NPR talk show host Felder Rushing will be at the Distillery April 20.

Also known as the Gestalt Gardener, Rushing will talk about botanicals like the ones used in the making of distilled spirits. Beaver Creek Distillery uses a variety of native botanicals in the making of its handcrafted spirits, including gin, moonshine and bourbon.

Plants will be available, with one free to the first 25 customers

The Botanical Bonanza event will feature special treats, handcrafted cocktails, small-batch spirits, food and live music from noon until 6 p.m.

“We also have lovely non-alcoholic choices and Mississippi gifts available too,” said owner Rhonda Phillips.

Rushing will talk about botanicals and gardening starting at 2 p.m.

“This month we’re all about the gardening, the flowers and botanicals. I’m just super excited about having Felder come down,” she said.

With Earth Day being Monday, Phillips says this is a way to connect back to the Earth and celebrate botanicals and spring.
